This walkthrough is for the Lanayru Mining Facility. If you need help before this, check out the Lanayru Desert Walkthrough.

Drop a bomb in the bowl statue

As you enter the Lanayru Mining Facility, you are greeted by some awesome sounding music.

There is not much to do in this first room, except use your beetle to grab a bomb from the pillar near the bridge and drop it on the left bowl-statue on the far side of the room.

The statue will fall, so dash over to it, and grab the switch (by dashing up the wall) to open the way forward.

In this next room, you can fight the three-headed monsters now or later.

Push the box!

Either way, you need to get to the platform directly ahead with the door.

So grab a crate from the left side of the room and push it towards the ledge and hop on, and jump up.

Blow up the boxes!

Open the door, and you will be in a large room.

Use your beetle again on a bomb-pillar, except this time you will blow up the crates on the right side of the room.

After that, jump to that platform and climb the ladder to find a small key in a chest!

Go back to the previous room (the one with the locked door!) and go unlock the door.

In this room, proceed around all the broken old stuff clockwise, crossing the room on an old conveyor belt.

Blow up this box too!

Climb up the old vines and you’ll find a ladder on the right side with a box blocking the top.

I think you know what to do. Find a bomb nearby on a pillar and blow that box up!

Now you can climb up the ladder and stand on the switch, which will lower the grates around a time-stone in the center of the room.

Now, simply use your beetle to activate the time-stone, and the whole room will come alive (the coolest part about this dungeon!)

Now go forward and drop down after the Beamos (laser dude, which you can kill by slicing down to size sideways, and then stabbing the eye with a thrust).

Run against the conveyor belt, grabbing stamina fruit as you go, and then proceed to the right, climb the steps, and then run against the next conveyor belt.

At the end of the second conveyor belt, you will find a Beamos and a switch to grab. Grab the switch to unlock the door outta this crazy room!

Knock that air-blowfish towards the rocks to blow them outta your path

In this next room, go immediately right and climb the ladder.

Hug the wall, jumping from platform to platform, and using your sword to knock the air-blowfish into the rocks to blow them up.

Keep jumping on the platforms, making your way to the platform with piles of sand on it. Climb the ladder and open the chest!

You find the Gust Bellows!

This is like Luigi’s Mansion, but in reverse! It’s an unlimited-power reverse vacuum.

Basically, you can now blow sand and other objects around!

Go back down the ladder and to the right, and then use your Gust Bellows to blow the air-blowfish into the rocks blocking your path.

Use your Gust Bellows to blow away the exit to the room

Jump across to that platform, and then to the left for the platform with the ladder.

Climb up the ladder and use your Gust Bellows to blow away the exit to the room!

Move the crate to make a shortcut, and drop down and go to the left, back to the 2nd room (the room you used the key in).

Use the Gust Bellows to reveal a switch

Use your Gust Bellows on the crate here, and the other piles of sand near, to reveal a switch you can push the crate to.

Push the crate on the switch to unlock the door opposite door you used the key on.

Now, go through the door you just unlocked.

Dash across the sand in this next room, across a few platforms, coming back around to the large pile of sand on the left as you enter.

Use your Gust Bellows to move this platform

Blow the sand off of this to reveal a Time Stone!

Hit the Time Stone to change the room completely!

Now, use your Gust Bellows on the fan-type thing on the platform to move it, while standing on it.

Blow the fan to open the gate in front of you

Also, use your Gust Bellows on the fan above the gate ahead of you to open it.

Kill the Beamos, and go down the ladder to fight one of the most annoying enemies in the game, if you don’t know how to destroy it.

Use your shield to deflect the missile

When this flying missile launcher shoots a missile at you, deflect it with your shield. Get your shield out with the (-) button and then pull it out with the nunchuk.

Push the nunchuk forward when the missile is about to hit you, to deflect the missle back at the enemy. After a couple missiles, it will die.

After blowing up the missile dude, use your Gust Bellows to move the platform to the ledge where you can reach it.

Then, use your Gust Bellows again to move the platform back to where it started, so you can get off.

Now climb the ladder, kill the Beamos, and then use your Gust Bellows on the fan to the left of the door.

In this next room, kill the three headed monster and then blow away the sand around the crate.

Blow through the grate to reveal a Time Stone

Move the crate along the wall to the place where you can climb up.

Climb up and then blow your Gust Bellows through the grate to reveal a Time Stone. Shoot this with your Slingshot to activate the room, and awaken the enemy in this room.

This enemy, Armos, is sometimes hard to defeat. You must use your Gust Bellows and blow the rotating part of the head counter-clockwise until the mouth opens up and two crystals appear.

Blow on the red part

Break these crystals with your sword (one on each side).

You have to stab one of the crystals, and you can slash the other.

After defeating it, grab the Map from the chest in the room.

In this next area, just check your map for the pathways that are safe to use in the sand, and then make your way to the second platform on the left.

Blow away the sand here to reveal a crawlspace. Crawl through here and eventually you should come upon the next room.

Blow away most of the sand in this room

The idea in this room is to use the Gust Bellows to blow away most of the sand, to reveal a switch and some treasure.

You will find a switch

Eventually you will find a path through all the spiky grates, and you will find a switch near the end which will open the door to the next area.

This next area is the same large room you were in before, but on the other side.

Reveal the mine cart with your Gust Bellows, and then stab the Time Stone inside it to make the Mine Cart start moving.

Stab the Time Stone in the Mine Cart

The Mine Cart will move, so your job is to follow it and make sure the path is clear.

You will have to kill a couple enemies, and open a gate with your Gust Bellows, and eventually the Mine Cart will be in a final resting place at the end of the track.

Continue to the left and you will find another mine cart covered in sand, with another Time Stone. Activate this time stone and this new cart will start moving.

Activate the fan quickly to open the door

This time, you have to activate a fan while the cart is still moving, so be sure to position yourself ahead of time.

At the end of the line, activate the Time Stone twice to make it start moving again. This time, get off at the door that just opened.

Open the door, and proceed to the left, and then right, and then up the vines and to the right. You can use your Gust Bellows to blow the scorpions off the vines if it makes your life easier.

Proceed to the right, and throw some bombs in those bowl-statues to cross over to a sand-covered Time Stone. Activate this stone to change the entire room.

Jump back across the platforms, kill the Beamos, and then run past the three conveyor belts. Jump up and flip the switch to bring a platform over to you.

Take the platform to the other side with the Gust Bellows, and throw some bombs in the Bowl-statues. This will reveal the pattern in which you will flip some switches soon.

Use the Gust bellows to get another platform running perpendicular to the one you just rode. Ride it over to the end of the line, near the locked grate.

Flip the switches in the right order (left right middle)

Now go to the right, and take the other platform over to open the other bowl-statues.

Throw bombs in them and flip the switches in the right order.

Use the pattern you discovered to open the grate. (Left, right, middle).

Now you can go into the grated-off room.

Enter this room to fight two more of those Armos guys that you have to use your Gust Bellows on, and then stab. Good luck, fighting two is hard. Try to get one by itself at a time.

After defeating them, you will get the Ancient Circuit, which you can open the boss door with!

Run back to the main room

Go back to the main room by going over the conveyor belt with steam jets, and then go through the door, hit the time stone in the mine cart, and use the platform to move in time with the mine cart. Easy, right?

Now, align the Ancient Circuit on the door to open it! Voila!

Now you will fight the boss of this dungeon, Moldarach, the thousand-year arachnid!

This boss is pretty tough, I won’t lie. Some hints that might help you out:

Use your shield bash (push nunchuk forward with shield out) just as a claw attacks you, and you will knock it back, giving you time for two strikes. Also, after you destroy the claws, it will dig itself into the sand. You must use the Gust Bellows to reveal it.

Just in general, keep your distance and hopefully you can get some good hits in while dodging his hits. Remember there are pots near the edges of the room with hearts in them.

After defeating the boss, you get a heart container! Woo!

Grab it and go through the door, and use your Beetle to activate the Time Stone in the room. Ride the mine cart out for a cool cut-scene. Also, you get a new item!
