Note: This walkthrough is for the Sealed Grounds after you defeat the Lanayru Mining Facility and get the Goddess Harp. To view our previous walkthrough, check out the Lanayru Mining Facility Walkthrough.

Hilarious cut scene ensues

After defeating the Lanayru Mining Facility and getting the harp, it’s time to head back up to the sky.

Once in the Sky, go to the green beam of light to land in Faron Woods. You will see a pretty hilarious cut scene, and then you will be in Faron Woods near the entrance to the Sealed Temple.

Head up the vines to the Sealed Temple and talk to the old lady there. She will explain many things, and then you will be able to play your harp and learn your first song.

To play the harp, simply wave your Wii Remote side to side in time with the light that is expanding and contracting. It might be hard to get just right at first, but with enough practice you should get it.

Try landing on the head of the Imprisoned

After learning the song, a loud rumbling noise will come from outside, and you must go fight a very large boss, the Imprisoned.

There are a couple ways to defeat this enemy. First, you can slice all of the toes up, and it will fall backwards, at which point you need to swing your sword upwards on the sealing pillar on its forehead.

Another way to defeat the Imprisoned is to use the center steam-jet and fly upwards, and then slowly fall back down and land on the enemy’s head. From the top of the head, you can swing your sword downwards to push the sealing pillar back into the beast.

Attack the Imprisoned a total of three times to defeat it, and then go hit the pillar with your charged sword to seal the beast back in for now.

You will talk to the old woman again, and she will tell you that someone in Skyloft probably knows about the songs. That person is Zelda’s dad, in the Academy, in the headmaster’s room.

Head back up to Skyloft and go to the Academy, and talk to Zelda’s father and he will tell you the second verse of the song, which explains that you need to make two whirling sails face the light tower.

Use your Gust Bellows to make the windmill face the Light Tower

The whirling sails are the two windmills on the island of Skyloft.

The first windmill is easy. It is on the way to the Light Tower from the Academy, on the right. Use your Gust Bellows to turn this windmill to face the Light Tower.

Now, you have to go to the other windmill, which you can probably see from where you are. It is on the other side of the Light Tower, towards the houses by the graveyard.

The only problem with this windmill is the fact that it is missing its propeller.

A villager will talk to you and explain that the propeller is missing and the workshop guy might have a robot that can bring it back from under the clouds.

The easiest ancient flower is in the Desert Gorge landing

Go talk to the workshop guy, and he will explain that he really needs an Ancient Flower.

The easiest Ancient Flower is in Lanayru Desert, in the Desert Gorge landing area. Simply land here and shoot the time stone on top of the hill in the picture, and an Ancient Flower will appear in the circled area.

Once you have the Ancient Flower, head back and talk to the workshop guy and he will fix up his robot. Now you need to actually find the propeller for the windmill.

You can use dowsing here, but make sure you land at the Temple Entrance landing in the Eldin Volcano region.

The windmill propeller is circled, near the Temple Entrance landing

From the temple entrance, turn immediately left and head over to the downhill slope with the tipped-over tower, and the windmill is right next to the tower, circled in the picture.

Go to the propeller and your sword will come out and talk to you, and you can go ahead and tell the robot guy to come down and grab the propeller for you.

He will take it to the sky, so head to the sky also, and the robot will follow you to Skyloft, and you will automatically be back by the Windmill.

The villager will install the windmill propeller for you, so use the Gust Bellows just like the first one to spin it towards the Light Tower.

Use your harp on top of the Light Tower

Now you must go to the top of the Light Tower, now that the two windmills are facing it.

At the top, pull out your Harp with the up arrow, and you will notice a tune that you can keep in time with.

Just wave your Wii Remote with the tune, and you’ll eventually get it.

Now, a large beam of light will shoot into the stormy area of the sky.

In this area lies a new island we must visit, so get on your bird and fly!

Fly towards the beam of light that is shooting into the clouds and you will enter the stormy area with more dangerous enemies. Fly towards the largest island here and land.

You will now have to figure out this bridge puzzle. The basic idea is to align all three small pillars, which will align all three bridge pieces.

Step One for the bridge puzzle to the Isle of Songs

Step one: Push the rotating thing in the center 8 times, until it looks like the picture to the left.

Step Two for the Song Isle Bridge Puzzle

Step two: Hit the top crystal that controls the pillars that block the bridge pieces, and then push the rotating thing 3 more times, until it looks like the picture on the right.

Step three: Hit the right crystal to only block the center piece, and then push the rotating thing 3 more times to align all of the bridge pieces. Now you must bring the whole bridge all the way around, without getting any of the pieces blocked.

After step three, hit the top crystal, rotate it 9 times, and then hit the right crystal, and finish rotating the bridge

To do this, make sure no pillars are being blocked before you push each time.

If a pillar is being blocked, hit the crystal until none of them are being blocked any more, and then continue on until the bridge is totally lined up.

Use the picture on the left to help you out.

This will grant you access into the crawlspace, so crawl in to listen to a message from the Goddess and learn a new song, Farore’s Courage.

With this song, you will be able to enter the next area of the game.

Head to Faron Woods, and land at the Viewing Platform.

Pull out your harp where these butterflies are in Faron Woods

At the Viewing Platform, jump off and pull out your harp where your dowsing points you.

It is right in front of the viewing platform, in the circle of dirt.

Pull out your Harp and you will play Farore’s Courage, which will allow you to teleport to the Silent Realm.

In this realm, you will need to find all 15 of Farore’s Tears. There is a danger in this realm though, because if you get hit by a guardian, you will have to redo the entire thing.

Some tips: save a couple easy tears for last, and make sure you don’t pick up every Light Fruit (the white fruit) unless you actually need it.  Also, make sure to check your map, as beacons will appear on the map.

This Farore's Tear in the circled area did not appear on the map

Sometimes, the beacons don’t appear on the map. I noticed one tear in the red circled area did not show up on the map.

Don’t worry, if you fail you get unlimited tries.

After finding all of the tears, you will get a new item, the Water Dragon’s Scale.

You will need to use this scale to explore the immediate area to find a way to get to Lake Floria, where your next adventure will begin.

Also, try exploring other areas you have visited that have bodies of water. You will be surprised how many treasures you might uncover by exploring with your new-found swimming ability.

To dive in the water, press A, and swing the nunchuk to perform a spin-move, which helps you get around faster, but uses more air.
